Henninger Provides ADR Services for “Widows”
When dialogue from a shoot is unusable, ADR or “Automatic Dialogue Replacement,” is often the solution. While watching an affected scene, the actor records a new dialogue track in a narration booth while performing the scene to match the footage. ADR is also known as “looping.”
The dialogue from a shoot might be unusable for any number of reasons, such as bad weather, a technical problem or a passing siren. For the Steve McQueen film “Widows,” however, Robert Duvall recorded ADR in our studio in order to replace the cursing in his original dialogue track for an in-flight version of the film.
